Volker Lüderitz

Volker Lüderitz (born March 30, 1959 in Schönebeck (Elbe) ) is a university professor and German politician ( PDS ). From 1990 to 1998 he was a member of the Saxony-Anhalt state parliament .

Education and life

After visiting the POS and EOS , Volker Lüderitz initially worked as a chemical specialist. He completed his studies with a degree in biology. In 1988 he received his PhD from the Humboldt University in Berlin with a thesis on the effect of copper on planktonic algae. rer. nat. PhD. In 2008 he completed his habilitation at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University of Greifswald with his thesis "Protection and regeneration of water ecosystems and water resources by means of engineering-ecological methods". After working as a group leader for ecological biochemistry / environmental protection, he became a professor at Magdeburg-Stendal University. Volker Lüderitz, who is of Protestant denomination, is married and has one child.

Research and teaching

Volker Lüderitz conducts research in the areas of river assessment and renaturation, the revitalization of old floodplains and the further development of artificial wetlands for wastewater treatment and has carried out research projects at home and abroad.

He teaches as a professor in the field of water and recycling management at the Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences. His teaching areas include the biological-ecological aspects of water management , hydrobiology , ecology , ecotoxicology , ecotechnology, water ecology and water protection .

politics

Volker Lüderitz was a member of the SED and, since it was renamed in 1990, the PDS. In his party, he was honorary chairman of the district executive and a district councilor since 1990. He was elected to the state parliament in the first state election in Saxony-Anhalt in 1990 via the state list. In the state parliament he was chairman of the committee for environmental protection and nature conservation. He was also elected from the state list in the 1994 state elections.
