Volker Nielsen ev.-luth. married (born December 11, 1964 in Meldorf ) is a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

Nielsen attended secondary school in Sankt Michaelisdonn , which he graduated in 1981. He then attended the technical high school in Meldorf and passed the Abitur in 1984. This was followed by employment in food processing companies and an internship at the Office for Agriculture and Water Management in Heide. From 1985 to 1988 he studied administrative sciences at the University of Applied Sciences for Administration and Services in Kiel-Altenholz and graduated with a degree in administration . He has worked in local government since 1989, most recently as head of the internal auditing of a district town.

Political and municipal functions and offices

In 1989 Nielsen joined the CDU. In 1990 he was elected to the parish council of St. Michaelisdonn for the first time and has been mayor of the parish since 2003 . In 1998 Nielsen was elected to the district council of the Dithmarschen district. Since 2013 he has been chairman of the CDU district parliamentary group, chairman of the main committee and from 2013 to 2018 he was the first deputy district administrator of the Dithmarschen district. In 2000, Nielsen ran for the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament , but received no mandate in all of Schleswig-Holstein despite the second-best CDU first vote result . In May 2004 he succeeded Thorsten Geißler and was a member of the state parliament until the end of the election period in March 2005.

From 2003 to 2007 Nielsen was the first deputy head of the parish district office of Eddelak-Sankt Michaelisdonn , which merged with the parish district office of Burg-Süderhastedt to form the office of Burg-Sankt Michaelisdonn in 2008 .

He was elected deputy district chairman of the CDU Dithmarschen in 2001 and was local chairman of the CDU Sankt Michaelisdonn from 1997 to 2014. Since 2013, Volker Nielsen has been chairman of the CDU district association and continues to be a member of the CDU local board of his home community St. Michaelisdonn.

On February 6, 2016, Volker Nielsen was nominated as a CDU candidate for the state electoral district 7, Dithmarschen-Süd , and on May 7, in the state elections in 2017, he won 40.5 percent of the first votes in the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament. He is a member of the Finance and Petitions Committee.

As honorary mayor of the municipality of St. Michaelisdonn , Volker Nielsen has been involved in several projects since taking office in 2003:

  • Construction and operation of a recreational trolley between Marne and St. Michaelisdonn 2004, "Marschenbahndraisine"
  • Planning and construction of the golf course "Golf am Donner Kleve" from 2004
  • Creation of community-owned nature reserves on the outskirts in 2005
  • Purchase of large expansion areas for commercial operations in 2005

  • Planning of a multifunctional building by the community itself in the center of the village with a general practitioner, outpatient nursing service, day care for the elderly, café and shop area, barrier-free apartments, conference room and offices for public purposes and non-profit associations, construction start in 2018
  • Area-saving interior compression through changes to the development plan for modern forms of living and housing construction

District and state politics

The improvement of the public road and port infrastructure for the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein is one of the core issues of Nielsen's commitment. In addition, following his conviction, the expansion of the port and quay facilities on the Elbe near Brunsbüttel ("further deep-water port", "LNG terminal") is to be seen as an important building block for the marketing of the available industrial space. In 2017, municipal planning led to a building permit for another deep-water port on the Elbe.

For the entire coastal fishing fleet and shipyard capacities, Nielsen calls for investments in the state port of Büsum and other tourist offers in the vicinity of the port. Volker Nielsen is committed to maintaining the district and community structures in Schleswig-Holstein. He is convinced that associations of communities and districts can only take place on a voluntary basis in order to preserve the citizens' increased voluntary commitment and their self-image for local democracy.
