Volker Rheinberger

Volker M. Rheinberger (born December 12, 1948 in Vaduz ) is a Liechtenstein politician ( VU ).

biography

Rheinberger was born in Vaduz in 1948 as the son of the architect and monument protector Hans Rheinberger and his wife Edeltraud (née Hartmann) and grew up with two brothers. He attended high school in Vaduz from 1960 to 1968. He then studied chemistry from 1968 to 1972 at the University of Basel . There was carried out in 1975 his doctorate to Dr. phil. nat. From 1976 to 1982 he studied economics at the University of St. Gallen , where he received a licentiate in economics in 1982 (lic. Oec.). Rheinberger has now worked as a research chemist at Ivoclar Vivadent AG , a dental company based in Schaan . From 1986 he was a member of the company's management. He retired in 2013.

From 1993 to 2001 he was a member of the Liechtenstein Parliament for the Patriotic Union . First elected in February 1993, he was re- elected in October of the same year and in 1997 . As a member of the state parliament, he was a member of the state committee. In addition, from 1996 to 2005 he was a board member of the Historical Association for the Principality of Liechtenstein . Furthermore, as an author and co-author, he has published numerous publications in the field of organic and inorganic chemistry , as well as dental materials science. From 2010 to 2018 he was President of the University Council of the University of Liechtenstein .

Rheinberger is married and has two daughters.
