history
The bank was founded on October 18, 1903 as a savings and loan association - a registered cooperative with unlimited liability. In 1969, the savings and loan funds Elsen merged with the savings and loan funds in Kirchborchen and Wewer and thus enormously enlarged the catchment and support area. Today Elsen alone has over 15,500 inhabitants, Wewer 6,100 and Borchen 13,800. In 1980 the savings and loan fund Elsen merged with Volksbank Etteln to what is now Volksbank Elsen-Wewer-Borchen eG.

The organs of the bank are the management board, the supervisory board and the representative assembly.
