The credit institute was founded on October 7, 1895 by 64 committed citizens from Lauterecken and the surrounding area as the “Lauterecken Advance Association Registered Cooperative”. On April 28, 1940, the general assembly decided to change the name to Volksbank Lauterecken eG. Milestones in the company's history are the merger with Raiffeisenbank Glantal eGmbH in 1972 and the merger with Raiffeisenkasse Becherbach eG and Raiffeisen-Warengenossenschaft eG, Lauterecken in 1974.
