The People's Bank Central Black Forest eG is a German cooperative bank in the legal form of a registered cooperative with headquarters in Wolfach . In relation to the amount of the balance sheet total , it is in the upper mid-range of the cooperative banks in Germany. Volksbank Mittlerer Schwarzwald eG was created in 2017 from the merger of Volksbank Kinzigtal eG and Volksbank Triberg eG.

The business area in the Black Forest extends over sixteen branches in Steinach , Haslach , Hausach , Gutach , Wolfach , Oberwolfach , Schiltach , Schenkenzell , Alpirsbach , Rötenberg , Peterzell , Hornberg , Triberg , Schonach , Schönwald and Furtwangen .

history

In 1926 the trade association Triberg founded a credit union instead, the Triberger Gewerbebank eGmbH. In 1943 the company name was changed from Gewerbebank Triberg eGmbH to Volksbank Triberg eGmbH.

In 1874 the “Savings and Advance Payment Association Alpirsbach” was founded, which in 1940 was renamed “Volksbank Alpirsbach”. Six years later, the “Schiltach advance payment association” was established, which was later called “Vereinsbank Schiltach”. In 1894, the Rötenberg community founded the “Raiffeisenbank Rötenberg” which was merged into the “Savings and Loans Association Peterzell”, which had been founded a good 100 years earlier.

In the southern business area the "Ländliche Kreditverein Hausach-Einbach" was established in 1907, in 1923 the "Ländliche Kreditverein Oberwolfach", which was renamed in 1975 to "Raiffeisenbank Oberwolfach" and in 1926 the "Gewerbebank Haslach".

After various mergers , in 1988 the "Volksbank Oberes Kinzigtal eG" (with branches in Schiltach, Schenkenzell, Alpirsbach, Peterzell and Rötenberg) and the "Volksbank Hausach-Haslach eG" (with branches in Hausach, Gutach, Wolfach, Oberwolfach, Haslach, Fischerbach) merged and Steinach) to the new “Volksbank Kinzigtal eG”.

In November 1999, after a two-year construction phase, the new headquarters in Wolfach was completed, which serves as the headquarters.

In October 2016, the representatives of Volksbank Kinzigtal eG and Volksbank Triberg eG approved the merger of the two banks.
