history
On March 21, 1908, the Plochingen industrial association , chaired by Hermann Kirchgeorg, founded the industrial bank Plochingen eGmbH. The 42 founders joined the new bank as members. In 1940 the general meeting decided to rename it to “Volksbank Plochingen”. The citizens of the surrounding towns also increasingly came to Plochinger Bank as customers, so that there was a need to open branches. Between 1955 and 1970 the branches in Altbach, Stumpenhof, Deizisau, Wernau and Reichenbach were established.
Since the 1990s, the bank has also grown through the merger with neighboring cooperative banks. In 1991 the first major merger with the Denkendorfer Bank took place. This was followed in the years 1992 to 2000 mergers with the Altbacher Bank, the Wernauer Bank, the Hochdorfer Bank and the Deizisauer bank.
