Folk drug
As Volksdroge are commonly psychotropic substances and drugs whose occupation of trade in the respective culture common and usually legally is. In the western world , this is especially true for alcoholic beverages (see alcohol consumption ), coffee and tobacco (see smoking ). The most common is caffeine , which is found in tea , coffee and caffeinated sodas ( cola ).
Other examples are Kath in Yemen, the betel nut in Southeast Asia , Kava Kava in some regions of Oceania , and coca leaves in the Andean region .
