A first round was not played. In the second round, twelve teams competed against each other in home and return matches. The winners met two seeded teams in the third round and there were home and away games again. The losers in the first two rounds continued to play in the CEV Cup . The four winners of the third round qualified alongside twelve seeded teams for the group stage. In the group stage there were four groups with four teams each. Each team competed at home and away against each of the three opponents. There were three points for a 3-0 or 3-1 win, two for a 3-2 win and one point for a 3-2 defeat. The group winners and the best runners-up qualified for the playoffs. There they determined three participants for the Final Four in home and away games . The host of the Final Four is the fourth participant to qualify directly after the group stage.
At the Final Four on May 5th and 6th in Bucharest , the Romanian hosts CS Volei Alba-Blaj played against the three teams qualified in the play-offs. In the final, VakıfBank Istanbul prevailed against the hosts and won their fourth title.
