All tube technology

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As a full tube is called colloquially, especially in the guitars - electric bass - and audio range , amplifiers , both in the pre- and the final stage on tube technology to build.

Other technical approaches

In contrast, there is transistor technology . In addition, there are mixed forms such as hybrid technology , in which a tube preamp is combined with a transistor output stage (more rarely a transistor preamp with a tube output stage).

Another field are amp modellers who try to simulate the sound of other guitar amplifiers in a more or less authentic way using digital or analog methods. Such devices have at least one line output for connection to an audio mixer or similar.

Manufacturer

Manufacturers of all-tube amplifiers in the guitar and electric bass sector include Marshall , Fender , Engl , Mesa / Boogie , Ampeg and Orange .

Manufacturers of transistor amplifiers for guitarists include Roland , Peavey and Laney . The first manufacturer of hybrid amps was Hughes & Kettner . The first manufacturer of modeling amplifiers was Line 6 . In the meantime, many manufacturers (including those mentioned) offer models with different technologies, for example Hughes & Kettner builds amplifiers in all four designs.
