Vorwerk is an inhabited part of the municipality of Waltersdorf in the municipality of Schönefeld in the Dahme-Spreewald district in Brandenburg .

Geographical location

The community part is northeast of the center and borders there in the north on the state border of Berlin. To the northeast lie the other parts of the municipality of Waltersdorf and Hubertus. To the south, separated by the Flutgrabenaue Waltersdorf , is the Schulzendorf settlement . Most of the area is used for agriculture.

history

In 1700 a dairy was established in the Waltersdorfer Heide , which was first mentioned in 1719 "vor der Heyde" as an accessory to Gut Waltersdorf. In 1743 the dairy reappeared, "located individually, outside of Waltersdorf". In 1801 14 people lived there. There were two grottos and two campfire sites (= households). From 1858 the settlement was run as a Vorwerk ; at that time 27 people lived there.

Vorwerk has been part of the Waltersdorf community since 1928 and has been a residential area since 1957, and as a district from 1973.

Although the municipality does not have its own coat of arms, it is symbolized in the coat of arms of the municipality of Waltersdorf by one of the five cornflowers . The community wants to indirectly refer to "agriculture as the main historical source of income for the people of Waltersdorfer".

Economy, transport and infrastructure

Several parking service providers work in the village and offer transfer connections to Berlin Brandenburg Airport . There is also a horse ranch with a pony farm. There is a connection to the local public transport system about 1.5 km away via bus line 263 in Waltersdorf . Via Vorwerk there is a connection to the west to the Apfelweg, which in turn leads to the federal highway 179 . The road continues to the northeast to the Hubertus settlement and to the south into the nature reserve.
