Vyacheslav Anatoljewitsch Plaksunow (born March 6, 1968 in Syanno ) is a former Soviet - Belarusian cross-country skier .

Career

Plaksunow ran his first of a total of 35 World Cup individual races in January 1991 in Minsk , which he finished in sixth place over 15 km freestyle. At the 1991 World Championships in Val di Fiemme , he was eighth over 15 km freestyle and fifth in the relay. At the World Cup in Lahti he achieved third place with the relay and ninth place over 30 km freestyle and achieved his best overall result with 21st place in the overall World Cup. In December 1992 in Ramsau am Dachstein he achieved his best individual result in the World Cup with fifth place in the 10 km freestyle. At the World Championships in March 1993 in Falun he came 41st place over 10 km classic and 22nd place over 50 km freestyle and pursuit. His best placings at the Winter Olympics the following year in Lillehammer were 21st in the pursuit and 12th in the relay. At the 1995 Winter Universiade in Candanchú , he achieved 29th place over 15 km classic. At the 1997 World Championships in Trondheim , he ran 91st place over 10 km classic, 65th place in the pursuit, 31st place over 30 km freestyle and seventh place with the relay. He completed his last international race at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano . There he started over 50 km freestyle, but ended this race prematurely and ran into 14th place with the relay.
