history

In 1918 the company was founded by Karl Wörwag in Zuffenhausen for the production of paint and rust protection paints. In 1925 the industrial production of industrial paint began under the name Lastina . The company first gained greater fame when it was commissioned in 1938 to develop a tensioning varnish for the Zeppelins . In the 1950s, air-drying paints are produced for the agricultural and construction machinery industry and stoving paints for the house and lighting industry. In 1969, Wörwag begins producing powder coatings with epoxy resin . In the 1990s, solvent-based industrial paints were replaced by water-thinnable products. In 1997 a new plant was opened in Renningen and in the following time subsidiaries were founded in China, the USA, South Africa and Spain.
