Wladyslaw Liwak

Władysław Liwak (born February 24, 1942 in Branew , † September 11, 2017 in Górno ) was a Polish lawyer and politician ( Unia Demokratyczna ).

In 1964 he graduated from the Jagiellonian University Faculty of Law . From 1973 to 1996 he worked in the Sejm as legal advisor to the Stalowa Wola steelworks with a break in his tenure . In the years 1965-1980 he belonged to the Polish United Workers' Party , then he joined Solidarność . After martial law was imposed , he was involved in organizing support for the oppressed, and in the 1980s he was repeatedly arrested and interrogated. In 1989 he took part in the round table as a representative of the opposition .

From 1989 to 1993 he was a member of the Sejm , from 1991 for the UD . From 1990 to 1991 he was voivode of Tarnobrzeg . In 1996 he retired from political activities. In the same year he opened a law firm in Stalowa Wola .

In 1993 he was awarded the Golden Cross of Merit and in 2008 the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta .

He is buried in the community cemetery in Stalowa Wola (district XLVIII / C / 9).
