Władysław Ziółek (born June 22, 1935 in Komorniki ) is retired Archbishop of Łódź .

Life

The emeritus military vicar of Poland , Józef Gawlina , ordained him on July 13, 1958 as a priest of the Diocese of Łódź .

John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Risinium and auxiliary bishop in Łódź on March 12, 1980 . The episcopal ordination donated him the Bishop of Łódź, Józef Rozwadowski , on May 4th of the same year; Co - consecrators were Jan-Wawrzyniec Kulik , auxiliary bishop in Łódź, and Bohdan Bejze , auxiliary bishop in Łódź. As a motto he chose In virtute Spiritus .

The Pope appointed him Bishop of Łódź on January 24, 1986. With the elevation to the archbishopric on March 25, 1992 he was appointed Archbishop of Łódź. On July 11, 2012, Pope Benedict XVI. his resignation request submitted for reasons of age.
