biography

Fahrberg became known at the end of the 1970s through broad themed exhibitions such as "Art & Irony" or "Der Grimm auf Märchen", in which he combined artistic approaches of the avant-garde with works from caricature and cartoon in order to level the boundaries between the genres. In addition to working for various culture and music magazines, he was editor-in-chief and co-editor of the magazine FOTOGRAFIE - Kultur Jetzt from 1982 to 1985 . As an exhibitor, he worked for and with Robert Lebeck , Joseph Beuys , Horst Janssen , Robert Gernhardt and FK Waechter, among others .

In 1996 he initiated the Göttingen Elch , which is awarded annually for the "life or complete works of an artist of satirical provenance".

Since 2010 he has published the book series “Masters of the Komische Kunst” - a library of German-language satire in the Munich publishing house Antje Kunstmann .

Fahrenberg has worked in the program management of the "Göttinger Verlag der Kunst" since 2016.
