Radio Miami International ( WRMI ) is a US private shortwave station .

history

Jeff White and Kiko Espinosa founded Radio Miami International in 1989 . Initially, the station broadcast using purchased airtime, but received its own license from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in 1994 . White is a retired journalist who worked for Radio Earth in Curaçao and Radio Discovery in Santo Domingo .

White bought the broadcasting systems from WYFR Familyradio and had the station licensed under WRMI in Miami . At the transmission location Okeechobee are a total of 13 stations with power between 50 and 100 k W available. The antenna park comprises 23 systems, which are designed for the coverage of America, Europe and Africa.

Since the takeover, WRMI has been sending 50 kW for Latin America and North America. WRMI radiates with reflector antennas in the direction of 160 degrees for the Caribbean and Latin America.
