WaKeeney is a city in Trego County in the US state of Kansas and the county seat .
The city was founded in 1879 around a stop on the Kansas Pacific Railway . According to the last census in 2000, WaKeeney had 3319 counties in 1924.
Trivia
In the US television series " Jericho - The Attack ", the city of Jericho is probably the main location of the plot instead of WaKeeney. Another indication that the cities matched is that episode 3 speaks of the possibility that a plane crashed near Jericho. That plane was supposed to be diverted to Trego Airfield, which is southwest of the real WaKeeney.
