The Wachankette ( Dari : سلسله کوه واخان, Selsela-je Koh-e Wakhan ; Tajik қаторкӯҳи Вахон ; Russian Ваханский хребет ) is a mountain range in the south of the Pamir Mountains in the Afghan province of Badakhshan and the Tajik autonomous province of Gorno-Badakhshan .

The mountain range extends over a length of 160 km in an east-west direction. It forms the watershed between the Pamir and Istyk river systems in the north and Wachandarja and Oksu in the south. The average altitude is 5000  m . The highest peak is the 6320  m high Koh-e Pamir . The glacier area of ​​the mountain range is 94.1 km². At the foot of the Wachan chain is the Zorkulsee in the north and the Shaqmaqtin moraine reservoir in the south. The western part of Wachankette is located entirely on Afghan territory within the Wachankorridors . The mountain ridge of the eastern part forms the border between Afghanistan in the south and Tajikistan in the north.
