The Waddington Bay ( French Baie Waddington , Spanish Bahía Waddington , English Waddington Bay ) is a bay immediately north of Cape Tuxen on the Graham coast of Graham Land on the Antarctic Peninsula .
The bay was mapped for the first time in parts in 1898 by participants in the Belgica expedition (1897–1899) under the direction of the Belgian polar explorer Adrien de Gerlache de Gomery . A more detailed mapping was done during the Fifth French Antarctic Expedition (1908-1910) under the direction of the polar explorer Jean-Baptiste Charcot . Charcot named the bay after the French politician Richard Waddington (1838–1913), then president of the Rouen Chamber of Commerce .
