The WASI GmbH is a German company for stainless fasteners from stainless steels and special materials based in Wuppertal - Ronsdorf . The company has been part of the Würth Group since 1978 .

In 1961, Emil Wagener and Werner Simon founded the WASI company in Wuppertal as a company for stainless steel fasteners "WASI A2" and "WASI A4". In 1992 the special sales division was founded with installation technology and height adjustment elements .

In 1997, the range was expanded to include the Maritime product division with special rustproof fasteners for water sports and for boat and shipping .

In 1998 WASI Spain started its business. WASI Austria followed in 2000 .

In 2001 an automatic high-bay warehouse was put into operation at the Wuppertal - Heckinghausen location . In 2002 new companies were established in Denmark , Sweden , Croatia and China . WASI Serbia started its business in 2003, WASI Romania followed in 2004, WASI Bulgaria in 2005 and WASI Poland in 2006 .

In 2007, the SOLAR division was added to the product range with assembly solutions made of stainless steel and aluminum for photovoltaic roof structures.

In 2009 an expansion of the logistics followed by the commissioning of the second location in Wuppertal - Ronsdorf .

In 2014 the business units WASI Industry and WASI Commerce were founded. In 2017 the name was changed to WASI GmbH with direct connections to external locations in Spain , Denmark and Belgium .

In 2017, the merger to a location in Ronsdorf took place through the expansion of the logistics center and the addition of an administration building.

Products

WASI GmbH sells connecting elements made of rustproof stainless steels from A1 to A5 in all strength classes and made of various special materials according to DIN , EN or ISO as well as all common international and WASI in-house standards. In addition, WASI GmbH's in-house technology department enables the development of new products and the optimization of existing products according to customer requirements.
