The constituency of Austria ob der Enns 17 was a constituency for the elections to the House of Representatives in the Austrian crown land of Austria ob der Enns (Upper Austria). The electoral district was created in 1907 with the introduction of the Reichsrat election regulations and existed until the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy.
history
After the Reichsrat had decided on the general, equal, secret and direct male suffrage in autumn 1906, the major reform of the electoral law through the sanctioning of Emperor Franz Joseph I came into effect on January 26, 1907 . With the new Reichsrat election order, a total of 516 electoral districts were created, with one member being elected in each constituency with the exception of Galicia in the course of the Reichsrat election. The MP had to prevail with an absolute majority in the first ballot or in a runoff election. The electoral district of Austria ob der Enns 17 comprised the judicial districts of Steyr and Weyer , whereby the following municipalities were excluded from the electoral district or belonged to electoral district 4 :
- the city of Steyr
- the villages of Sierning , Sierninghofen and Neuzeug (all of the municipality of Sierning)
- the villages of Trattenbach and Wendbach (municipality of Trattenbach)
- the village of Neuschönau in the municipality of Ortisei
- the community of Weyer Markt
In the 1907 Reichsrat election , Josef Waldl (Catholic Conservative Party) emerged victorious in the first ballot. Kreilmeier was again able to successfully defend his mandate in the 1911 Reichsrat election in the first ballot.
