The constituency Austria ob der Enns 9 was a constituency for the elections to the House of Representatives in the Austrian crown land Austria ob der Enns (Upper Austria). The electoral district was created in 1907 with the introduction of the Reichsrat election regulations and existed until the collapse of the Habsburg monarchy.

history

After the Reichsrat had decided on the general, equal, secret and direct male suffrage in autumn 1906, the major reform of the electoral law through the sanctioning of Emperor Franz Joseph I came into effect on January 26, 1907 . With the new Reichsrat election order, a total of 516 electoral districts were created, with one member being elected in each constituency with the exception of Galicia in the course of the Reichsrat election. The MP had to prevail with an absolute majority in the first ballot or in a runoff election. The constituency of Austria ob der Enns 9 comprised the judicial districts of Obernberg and Schärding , although the city of Schärding and Markt Obernberg (both constituency 6 ) were excluded from the constituency.

From the Imperial Council election in 1907 was Josef Doblhofer (Catholic Conservative Party / Christian Social Party ) emerged as the winner. He was replaced by his party colleague Ferdinand Frankenberger in the 1911 Reichsrat election.
