Waitaria Bay is a small settlement in the Marlborough District on the South Island of New Zealand .
geography
The settlement is located around 15 km north-northeast of Picton in Waitaria Bay of Kenepuru Sound , an inlet of the Marlborough Sounds . Connection to Havelock and Picton is only possible overland via a 55 km long winding coastal road to Linkwater and from there another 12 km to Havelock and another 20 km to Piction .
Education
With the Waitaria Bay School, the settlement has a primary school with grades 1 to 8. In 2015, 13 students attended the school. The school opened in 1897.
