The Vajenga ( Russian Ваенга, Ваеньга ) is a right tributary of the Northern Dvina in the Arkhangelsk Oblast in northwestern Russia .
The Wajenga rises about 40 km east of the mouth of the Waga on a ridge east of the course of the Northern Dvina. It flows to the west-northwest. Later the Wajenga turns to the southeast and shortly afterwards again to the west and finally after 218 km, northwest of the settlement Beresnik , reaches the Northern Dvina. It flows through a wooded landscape. The course of the river is characterized by wide loops . The catchment area covers 3370 km². The Wajenga reaches its greatest drainage during the snowmelt in May. At the Filimonovskaya gauge , 42 km above the mouth, the mean discharge is 29.8 m³ / s. The main tributaries are the Nondrus (left) and Jugna (right). The river was used for rafting until the 1990s .
