The Wakool River is a river in the southwest of the Australian state of New South Wales .

It rises west of the city of Deniliquin and flows through bushland parallel to the Edward River and the Murray River with a slight gradient to the northwest. South of Kyalite it flows into the Edward River, a right branch of the Murray River.
