Valaskjalf

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Valaskjalf ( an . Valaskjálf ) is one of the palaces of gods in Asgard in Norse mythology . The roof of the hall is covered with silver. According to the Snorra Edda , Hlidskialf , the throne of Odin , is also located here .

“The third hall rises,
where the cheerful gods covered
the hall with silver.
Walaskialf is her name, who chose
the ace of old. "

- Edda , Grímnismál , verse 6

Valaskjalf could possibly also be the residence of the god Wali according to its name. Snorri Sturluson, on the other hand, writes in Gylfaginning that Valaskjalf is one of Odin's farms ( Gylfaginning , 17).
