Walburga Church in Bachenau

The St. Walburga Church in Bachenau , a district of Gundelsheim in the Heilbronn district in northern Baden-Württemberg , is a Catholic church that was built in 1901/02 with the inclusion of an older church tower.

The St. Walburga Church was built according to plans by Ulrich Pohlhammer in the neo-Romanesque style on the space of a smaller predecessor building north above the cemetery. The consecration of the church took place Bishop Paul Wilhelm von Keppler . The tower is from the previous building from 1593. The coat of arms of Hans Adam von Freiberg , who was Commander of the Teutonic Order at Horneck Castle in 1593, is embedded in the south wall . The church has a four-bay nave with a retracted choir . The glass windows were designed by Adolf Valentin Saile from Stuttgart.
