Ulrich Pohlhammer

Ulrich Pohlhammer (born February 26, 1852 in Neu-Ulm , † August 28, 1926 in Stuttgart ) was a German architect who built numerous Catholic churches in Württemberg .

Pohlhammer was a student of Christian Friedrich von Leins and Robert von Reinhardt . During his studies he founded AV Alania Stuttgart in 1870 . He completed the legal traineeship following his studies with the state examination to become a government architect.

Works

His first church building was the Josefskirche Schwäbisch Hall , which he built in 1886/1887 as a three-aisled basilica in the style of historicism . His other buildings include the Herz-Jesu-Kirche in Obergriesheim , the Jakobuskirche in Tiefenbach , the Walburgakirche in Bachenau , the St. Martin's Church in Sontheim , St. Kilian in Massenbachhausen , the Jakobuskirche in Bargau , the St. Joseph -Kirche in Spaichingen , the St. Petrus and Paulus Church in Pfedelbach, the Church of St. Nikolaus in Stuttgart (1896–1899), the Church of St. Laurentius and Agatha in Oggelshausen (1901–1902), the Church of St Antonius von Padua in Zuffenhausen (1902–1903), the Church of St. Mary's Assumption in Dettingen , the Church of St. Joseph in Feuerbach (1895) and the Church of St. Mary of Perpetual Help in Meckenbeuren (1913).
