Robert von Reinhardt

Robert Reinhardt , from 1902 by Reinhardt , (born January 11, 1843 in Neuffen ; † May 5, 1914 in Stuttgart ) was a German architect and university professor .

Live and act

Robert von Reinhardt studied from 1858 to 1863 at the Technical University of Stuttgart with Christian Friedrich von Leins . Study trips took him to France, Italy and Greece. As early as 1872 he became a professor at the Department of Architecture at the Stuttgart University of Applied Sciences, where he taught ancient and medieval architecture as well as building history . Reinhardt also taught art history at the Stuttgart School of Applied Arts . He was also a member of the Commission for the Preservation of Patriotic Art and Ancient Monuments and since 1875 a member of the Committee of the Association for Christian Art . His scientific research focused on the regularity of Greco-Roman temple buildings and the Italian Renaissance.

As an executive architect, he created public buildings and a large number of private buildings in various styles of historicism . His works were the Nikolauskirche in Wimsheim (1883), the Alte Reithalle 1887–1888, the Brenzkirche in Weil der Stadt (1889) and the Jobst Memorial Church in Stuttgart (1894), the Marienhospital in Stuttgart (1890) and some residential buildings in the Stuttgarter Marienstrasse, Reinsburgstrasse and Alexanderstrasse. In Heilbronn he created the Villa Faißt (1875), the Villa Adelmann (1870), the Harmonie (1877), the Villa Seelig (1873) and the Hagenbucher house at Moltkestrasse 10 (1877).

Honor

1902 Robert was by Reinhardt with the Cross of Honor of the Order of the Württemberg Crown excellent, which with the personal title of nobility ( ennoblement was connected).
