Alfred Lutz (historian)

Alfred J. Lutz (* 1963 ) is a German historian who primarily deals with the history of the Upper Swabian city of Ravensburg in the 19th century.

Life

Lutz grew up in Ravensburg and attended the Spohn grammar school there until he graduated in 1983 . He studied history at the University of Tübingen, among others with Volker Press, and was awarded a Dr. phil. PhD. In the same year he received the doctoral award of the Tübingen Faculty of History for his dissertation on Ravensburg history in Vormärz .

Alfred Lutz wrote numerous articles on the history of Ravensburg and on Upper Swabian history and architectural history, especially in the 19th century.

He works as a city ​​guide and publicist in Ravensburg .

Lutz took part in the traditional rod festival in Ravensburg from 1981-1983 as a drummer, platoon leader and adjutant of the "Drummer Corps of High Schools". In 1997 he wrote the article on the period from 1900 to 1950 for the first monograph on the rod festival and was co-author of the article on the further history of the festival in the 20th century. Since 2005 Lutz has been a member of the "Altentrummler".
