Walburgskirchen is a district of the Tann market in the Lower Bavarian district of Rottal-Inn .

location

Walburgskirchen is located about six kilometers north of Tann on State Road 2090 in the valley of the Grasenseer Bach. The place developed like a ribbon with three and four-sided courtyards along the street. Individual properties are located on the hillside.

history

Sancto Wolprantzkirchen (Official Rabenham, 13th century), Walpurkchirchen (Urbar Julbach, 1435), Waltperkirchen (1482) or Wallperskirchen (1532) was in the Duchy and later Electorate of Bavaria a chairman shaft in the Official parishes of the sovereign court Reichenberg-parish churches.

The rural community Walburgskirchen was created in 1818 with the second community edict. It came to Markt Tann on January 1, 1972 as part of the regional reform in Bavaria . A new building area was built on the southern outskirts.

From an ecclesiastical point of view, Walburgskirchen was the original branch of parish churches and became a benefice in 1519 , an expositur in 1677 , a vicariate in 1691 and a parish in 1899 . In 1989 there were 820 Catholics.

Attractions

The late Gothic parish church of St. Walburga was built around 1500, the tower dates from the 13th / 14th. Century. In 1882 the church was enlarged. The brick building has a parallel rib vault and is modernly equipped.
