The Alapayevsk narrow-gauge railway ( Russian Алапаевская узкоколейная железная дорога , transkr. Alapajewskaja uskokoleinaja schelesnaja doroga , transl. Alapajevskaâ uzkokolejnaâ železnaâ doroga is) a forest railway in the Russian Sverdlovsk Oblast , Alapayevsk .

history

Route network (as of 2008)

The first section of the narrow-gauge railway was opened in 1898. Of the 600 km long forest railway network with a gauge of 750 mm, a remaining distance of 250 km is still available today. It is the largest 750 mm network in Russia .
