The forest railway Oparino ( Russian Узкоколейная железная дорога Опаринского ЛПХ , transkr. Uskokoleinaja schelesnaja doroga Oparinskowo LPCH , transl. Uzkokolejnaâ železnaâ doroga Oparinskogo LPH ) is a 76 km long narrow gauge railway at Oparino in Kirov Oblast in Russia .
history
The forest railway has a track width of 750 mm. It was planned in 1952 and built from 1952 to 1955. In 1955, the scheduled timber transport from the villages in the forest to Oparino began. In its heyday, the route network was over 100 km long. 76 km of them are still in operation all year round (2016). In 2016 repairs were carried out on the tracks.

Freight and passenger cars
There are several log wagons, open and closed goods wagons, tankers, bulk goods wagons for transporting gravel during track construction, as well as at least one snow plow and a crane of the Finnish type 5E (№ 1724 from Valmet ). In addition to passenger cars, there are also simple dining or lounge cars.
