Waldseepfad Rieden
The Waldseepfad Rieden is a 14.2 km long circular hiking trail over 464 meters in altitude , which opens up the region around the stone- cutting village of Rieden with its Riedener tuff . It is located in the district of Mayen-Koblenz in Rhineland-Palatinate and is one of the 26 dream trails that have been awarded the hiking seal of the German Hiking Institute as predicate hiking trails.

The initiators indicate the parking lot at the Waldsee in Rieden as the starting point for the hike. From there the path runs in an easterly direction along the Rehbach to a sour well , from which water with a high iron content and drinking water quality emerges. The first ascent to a hill is on Bachstraße , which offers a view of Rieden with the Roman Catholic parish church of St. Hubertus . The path continues in an easterly direction along the foot of the 500.7 meter high Schorenberg into the forest until the hiker reaches a pasture , which is passed first in a south, then in an east and finally in a north direction. From there a view of the 575.3 meter high goose neck with the goose neck tower opens up . The 74 meter high directional radio tower is also an observation tower . This is reached via a further increase in an easterly direction. From the viewing platform, the viewer has a view over the Vulkaneifel and the Neuwied basin . In a south-easterly direction, the path leads to the Gänsehalshütte, a refuge . Further in a south-easterly direction, the path meets another dream path, the four-mountain tour . Along the 570.1 meters high Schmitz head both ways run parallel until the viewpoint Maifeld view is reached. From there the route leads in a south-westerly direction to the Udelsheck junction and in a serpentine alternating between open spaces and mixed forest back to the Waldsee in Rieden.
