Walter Baumann (politician)

Walter Baumann (born February 4, 1914 in Schafisheim ; † August 24, 1986 in Lenzburg , entitled to live in Schafisheim) was a Swiss politician ( BGB / SVP ).

biography

Baumann did an apprenticeship as a farmer and as a landlord . He then took over his father's farm and inn.

From 1963 to 1970 he presided over the farmers, trade and citizens' party (BGB) of the canton Aargau and from 1949 to 1973 he was part of the Aargau Grand Council , which he presided over in the 1963/64 office year. In addition, Baumann was elected to the National Council in 1966 and had a seat there until 1979.

He was committed to better training for landlords and founded the Wirtefachschule in Unterentfelden in 1978 (today the Unterentfelden Education Center ). He was also a member of the board of directors of the Aargau Electricity Works and was President of the Aargau Wirtevereine Association.
