Walter Foitzick
Walter Foitzick (born October 19, 1886 in Ratibor ; † August 31, 1955 in Munich ) was a German writer , journalist and editor .
Life
Nothing is known about the training. Foitzick is sometimes referred to as an art historian . He came to Munich in 1909 and worked as an editor for the Münchner Illustrierte Presse at Knorr & Hirth-Verlag in the 1920s . During this time, together with Karl Arnold, innovatively combined text-image stories were created. From 1938 to 1944 Foitzick acted as editor-in-chief , in Nazi parlance "Hauptschriftleiter", the Simplicissimus , probably because this satirical magazine had also been published by Knorr & Hirth-Verlag since October 1936.
