Walter Gamerith

Walter Gamerith (born August 30, 1903 in Eggenburg , † August 10, 1949 in Vienna ) was an Austrian painter.

Walter Gamerith studied at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna under Karl Sterrer . From 1926 he attended his special school for painting, in 1930 he left the academy. Gamerith then toured Europe and from 1934 exhibited portraits, nudes and landscapes in the Vienna Künstlerhaus , which elected him a member in 1939. In addition to Parisian and Italian motifs, his subjects were studies from the Attersee and Eggenburg. In 1939 he took part in an Austria show in Berlin. In 1944 a collective exhibition with 46 works took place in the Künstlerhaus. The Albertina acquired some of his work.
