Walter Gasthuber

Walter Gasthuber (born September 3, 1905 in Molln , Upper Austria , † February 17, 1966 in Linz ) was an Austrian politician ( NSDAP ).

The son of a gendarmerie officer attended the military secondary school in Wiener Neustadt after primary school . This was followed by training as a machine fitter. Gasthuber was the youth warden of the Deutschvölkischer Turnverein Linz-Lustenau . From 1925 to 1933 he was in the army , most recently as an artillery platoon commander. In 1933 he was dismissed from the Austrian armed forces because of Nazi activities. He then worked as a warehouse manager in an installation company, and later became a party employee of the NSDAP.

In 1935 Gasthuber was the leader of the illegal SA Brigade in Upper Austria. After the " Anschluss of Austria " he headed the welfare system (supply house, people's kitchen, general hospital) of the city of Linz from March 18, 1938 to June 7, 1938 as a city councilor and was responsible for the duties of the housing welfare office. From 1938 to 1941 Gasthuber was district leader of the Linz-Land district of the NSDAP and from 1941 to May 1945 district leader of the Budweis district of the NSDAP, division manager of the NSDAP. From November 17, 1943 to May 8, 1945 Gasthuber belonged to the National Socialist Reichstag for the constituency of the Land of Austria . After 1945 he worked as a gas station manager in Linz.
