Walter Gentz

Walter Gentz (born September 29, 1907 in Düsseldorf ; † January 26, 1967 ibid) was a German lawyer and administrative officer.

Life

Born as the son of a factory owner, Gentz studied law in Bonn after attending high school in Düsseldorf . During his studies in 1926 he became a member of the Frankonia fraternity in Bonn . In 1930 he passed his legal traineeship exam . In 1932 he became a member of the NSDAP (membership number 1.951.290). In 1934 he became a court assessor and in 1935 a government assessor . In 1936, he was in Erlangen for Dr. iur. PhD . He became SA-Obertruppführer and worked in Bruchsal as legal advisor for Standard 250. In 1938 he was promoted to government councilor in 1944 to senior government councilor . During World War II he was finance inspector and District Chief in Jaslo , where he, among others, on the forced recruitment was involved from the Jews employed in German industry. He was also involved in murders and mass shootings himself. In 1945 he became a Ministerialrat in the Düsseldorf Ministry of Finance .
