Walter Georgii (pianist)
Walter Georgii (born November 23, 1887 in Stuttgart , † February 23, 1967 in Tübingen ) was a German pianist and piano teacher.
Walter Georgii was a student of Max Pauer at the Stuttgart Conservatory and received his doctorate in Halle / Saale in 1914 with a dissertation on Carl Maria von Weber as a piano composer in musicology . He then taught piano in Cologne , until 1930 at the Conservatory and the Rheinische Musikschule and from 1930–1938 at the University of Music . From 1946 to 1955 he was a professor at the Musikhochschule in Munich . He published numerous works on piano music and edited numerous music editions.
