Walter Hitschler (politician)

Walter Hitschler (born April 13, 1942 in Zweibrücken ; † July 5, 2017 there ) was a German politician ( FDP ).

Life and work

Walter Hitschler graduated from the Herzog-Wolfgang-Gymnasium in Zweibrücken in 1961 and was active in teaching in Zweibrücken from 1972 to 1982, most recently as director of studies, 1983-1987 in the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Culture , 1972-1980 and since 1999 member of the Zweibrücken city council.

Hitschler was the partner of the CDU member of the Bundestag Anita Schäfer .

Political party

Hitschler had been a member of the FDP since 1963, since 1974 a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state board and chairman of the Palatinate district association. He was honorary chairman of the Palatinate FDP.

MP

Hitschler replaced Hermann Eicher on October 1, 1982 and was a member of the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament until the end of the 1983 legislative period.

On August 7, 1987, he replaced the resigned Wolfgang Rumpf in the German Bundestag . He was a member of the Bundestag until the end of the 12th parliamentary term in 1994.
