Walter Janson

Walter Janson (* 1953 in Hasloch ) is a German journalist and television presenter .

Career

After a traineeship at the Straubinger Tagblatt and the Deutsche Tagespost , Janson worked as a freelancer at SWR radio in Mainz from 1977 . He also worked as an editor and presenter on television. In 1983 Janson became a reporter for the "Landesschau" in the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament and in 1986 took over the deputy editor-in-chief of the news program "Neues um Nine". From 1990 he was head of the "FS Information and Projects" department and in 1998 became a member of the commissioner conference for the television station Phoenix . In the same year he developed the concept of the literary program "Schrifttypen". In his role as studio manager of the SWR in Bonn, he was chief correspondent and commentator with a focus on security and defense policy. Since 2003 he has been head of the TV broadcasting division within the SWR's domestic department. He is responsible for programs such as 2 + Leif , Wortwechsel and Besserlesen on SWR television .
