Walter Liederschmitt (born April 24, 1949 in Trier as Walter Schmitt; † October 23, 2013 ibid) was a German author , songwriter , high school teacher and singer of the Woltähr bands .

Life

Walter Schmitt grew up in the Konzer Tälchen . After graduating from high school in 1969, he did military service and then studied English and French to become a high school teacher at the University of Trier . During his studies he tried himself as a street musician . He finished his studies in 1977 with a state examination thesis on the song poetry of Bob Dylan . From 1975 to 1978 he wrote a book called "Bob Dylan, All Things Considered". In 1979 his first LP with Moselle Franconian songs was released. Further publications in Moselfränkisch-Platt followed . In 1988 he had his name changed to Liederschmitt .

Together with Karl-Heinz Singer, the Schlawenzelkall , he was one of the traveling minstrels at Cochem Castle for years . From 1993 to 1996 he was also a permanent employee of the Trier city magazine KATZ , from 1997 to 1998 for the successor newspaper neue KATZ and finally at maju! . In addition, he has written numerous articles on the music and theater industry as well as interviews and reports, including in the Trierischer Volksfreund and in literamus . Walter Liederschmitt worked as a teacher at the Humboldt-Gymnasium Trier until 2011 before he retired. Before that he taught in Neuwied , Boppard and Koblenz .
