Walter Hole

Walter Loch (* 1923 ; † 2013 ) was a German historian and journalist .

Loch studied history and German. In 1951 he was at Max Braubach at the Philosophical Faculty of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-University of Bonn with a thesis on The kurtrierischen estates during the reign of Elector Johann Hugo von Orsbeck and Karl Joseph of Lorraine (1676-1715) for Dr. phil. PhD.

From 1951 to 1959 he was editor and department head of the Frankfurter Neue Presse .

He then entered the service of the Bundeswehr as a civilian (first as an employee, then as a civil servant) . He was head of the division for political education in the Bundeswehr, troop information and military history in the Federal Ministry of Defense (BMVg) in Bonn and later editor-in-chief of the military journals Truppenpraxis und Wehrausbildung .

He was u. a. Chief editor of the series of publications Innereführung , published by the BMVg.
