Walter Mäder (born September 27, 1898 in Baden ; † February 28, 1987 there ; Catholic ; entitled to live in Baden) was a Swiss entrepreneur .

Life

Walter Mäder was born in Baden on September 27, 1898 as the son of the builder Louis Hermann Mäder and Lydia Edith, née Steffan. From 1916 to 1921 he studied chemistry in Bern and Zurich , which he obtained in 1921 with the academic degree of Dr. phil. finished.

As a result, he was employed in various areas before he took up the Dr. Walter Mäder founded a paint and varnish factory in Ennetbaden . There Mäder acted between 1939 and 1978 as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company that was converted to Walter Mäder AG , moved to Killwangen in 1948 and still exists today.

In addition, Mäder acted as a member from 1948, from 1960 as Vice President and from 1966 to 1972 as President of the Aargau Chamber of Commerce , of which he was subsequently appointed honorary member . In addition, from 1963 Mäder was on the board of directors and as president of Elektrochemie AG Turgi as well as vice-president of the Association of Swiss Paint and Paint Manufacturers. In 1940 he was promoted to colonel in the Swiss Army .

Walter Mäder, who married Nelly, the daughter of the sack manufacturer Paul Fischer, in 1924 , died on February 28, 1987 at the age of 89 in Baden.
