Walter Marcard
Georg Eduard Walter Marcard (born March 8, 1891 in Danzig ; † January 15, 1947 in Samlitz ) was a German engineer and university professor .
Life
After graduating from high school in Königsberg ( East Prussia ) in 1909 , Marcard studied in Berlin and graduated in 1914 with a degree in engineering. In the following year (1915) he became naval construction supervisor in ship engineering, in 1917 naval builder and in 1919 operations manager in Bad Sachsa .
In 1920 Marcard became assistant for combustion technology at the Technical University of Berlin and in 1921 department head at Lurgi in Frankfurt am Main . In 1922 he was appointed naval construction officer and in 1923 in Berlin as Dr.-Ing. PhD . In 1924 Marcard came to the tubular steam boiler factory " L. & C. Steinmüller " in Gummersbach .
In 1929 he became an honorary professor at the Technical University of Hanover with a teaching position for steam boilers . In 1941 he was appointed adjunct professor and in 1941 naval construction officer.
Honors
In 1938 Marcard received the Chatellier badge at the 6th French Congress for Heating and Ventilation in Paris .
