Walter Martin (actor)

Walter Martin (born May 30, 1901 in Leipzig , † September 19, 1985 in Weimar ) was a German theater and film actor and director.

Life

1918–1920 Martin took acting lessons in Braunschweig . He made his debut at the Staatstheater Braunschweig in 1920 as Moritz Stiefel in Frank Wedekind's Spring Awakening . After his engagement in Braunschweig, further stations were the theaters of Frankfurt (Oder), Bielefeld, Remscheid, Kaiserslautern, Meiningen, Saarbrücken, Trier, Halberstadt and Magdeburg. From 1954 he was senior director at the Volkstheater Halberstadt . This was followed by engagements in Dessau and in Halle / Saale until shortly before his death .
