The premiere of this production took place as a GDR first performance in September 1975 at the Landestheater Halle (Saale). The performance with the set by Henning Schaller and the costumes by Jutta Harnisch was also recorded here.

Georg Antosch wrote in the Neue Zeit :
“In spite of the clutter in the big drinking scene that has risen to the limit of blasphemy and a considerable loss of tempo after the break, Ruprecht's production is designed to keep jokes, satire and irony (the deeper meaning of course less) transparent to the audience. Actually, she creates a dense ensemble performance, which Wolfgang Winkler leads furiously as the goblin-like devil. "
