The premiere of this production took place as a GDR premiere on September 12, 1976 at the Landestheater Halle (Saale).

The performance with the stage design by Rolf Klemm and the costumes by Jutta Harnisch was also recorded here. The dramaturgy was in the hands of Sigrid Schleede and Eva-Maria Mahn .

The first broadcast took place in the 2nd program of the television of the GDR on August 12, 1978 in color.

criticism

The reviews refer to the performances in the Landestheater Halle and not specifically to the television recording.

Rainer Kerndl states in New Germany :

“If only the overexertion with which the unmasking of the petty bourgeoisie is more placed than staged would not be continuously visible, Ruprecht's concern of attacking the poor mendacity and forlornness of the petty bourgeois triviality, it in every arrangement, every detail of the game, including the treatment of the text Pointing out the way of speaking turns the characters into caricatures in parts, and with Horvath they are not. Horvath wrote theater characters, not demonstration copies. "

In the Berliner Zeitung one could read from Christoph Trilsel:
